Community Impact

CityDance

A free five-week series of introductory ballet classes.

A Community Approach to Dance

CityDance brings the art of ballet to children; for many it provides their introduction to the world of dance. In partnership with local elementary schools, we deliver free beginner ballet classes to students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

CityDance reaches over 1.100 students annually. The free five-week series brings the joy of ballet to children within our community. CityDance students learn the basics of ballet technique and French terminology, as well as music and creative movement.

Participating Schools & Organizations

CityDance is an after-school program, and Texas Ballet Theater performs the program for select schools in North Texas. TBT is always searching for more schools to participate in the CityDance program. To explore the possibility of bringing CityDance to your school, please click here to complete our interest form. If you have any questions, please contact community@texasballet.org.

“This is an opportunity that our students would not have otherwise. They look forward to the lessons and will ask in the hallway if it is ‘ballet day.’ It has given our students more confidence and helped with self-control and focus. What a beneficial program!”
