TEXAS BALLET THEATER CANCELS REMAINDER OF 2019-2020 SEASON

MARCH 20, 2020 – In compliance with city mandates, Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) has canceled all remaining performances and events of its 2019-2020 season. In addition to the previously confirmed cancelation of Image | Imbue | Bartok, this affects the company’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as the Gala and Opening Night Dinner associated with the production.

Ticket holders will have a few options regarding next steps and will receive an email with more information. To better serve patrons, the company asks that they email the Patron Services Center at ticketing@texasballet.org with any questions about tickets.

Additionally, both the Fort Worth and Richardson campuses of Texas Ballet Theater School will be closed through May 17. The school plans to resume classes May 18, but the date continues to be fluid based on recommendations from local health and government agencies.

MARCH 13, 2020 – In light of the continued spread of COVID-19 around the country and now in our community, and in consideration of current guidance from health officials, Performing Arts Fort Worth has made the difficult decision to cancel all events scheduled to be held at Bass Performance Hall, McDavid Studio and the Van Cliburn Recital Hall through March 31, 2020. This includes our upcoming performances of Image Imbue Bartok.

Ticket holders will have a few options regarding next steps, and will receive an email with more information. To better serve our patrons, we kindly ask that you email ticketing@texasballet.org instead of calling if you have any questions.

We sincerely hope you will consider donating your tickets back to TBT as a tax-deductible contribution. In this crisis, we need your support more than ever. Ticket holders will also have the option to receive a credit for the face value of their tickets, which can be used toward a future performance.

SCHOOL UPDATE
As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread throughout the US, and even here in North Texas, we have been closely monitoring the situation. After consulting with industry leaders, and on the advice of local health providers and government agencies, we have determined that it is in the best interest of our faculty and families to extend the weeks of Spring Break and temporarily suspend all classes, effective immediately.

Texas Ballet Theater Fort Worth School will be closed through Sunday, March 29.
Texas Ballet Theater Dallas School will be closed through Sunday, April 5.

Currently, the return date for classes is fluid, based on the advisement of local health officials. Please look for notifications from us as that date draws closer.

MARCH 9, 2020 – Texas Ballet Theater is committed to maintaining a healthy environment for our patrons, artists, students, volunteers and staff and we are taking steps to prevent the potential spread of flu and COVID-19. Our operations team is checking daily with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), local emergency management services and our venues, Bass Performance Hall and Winspear Opera House, and following their recommendations.

We’ve heightened our disinfecting processes in both public and private areas of our physical facilities, and we are increasing sanitization of frequently touched areas such as handrails, door handles and dance studios. We are also reviewing our procedures to reduce physical contact between front of house staff and patrons.
