Samantha Pille began her ballet training at a family owned studio, Patty Pille’s School of Dance, at the age of two. By the age of eight, Samantha was accepted into The School for Creative and Performing Arts as a ballet major. In her 5 years with the school, she performed many leading roles and was selected to perform variations with the Pops Orchestra. Samantha continued her training with various schools during the summer including San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, The English National Ballet, and Cincinnati Ballet. By the age of 14, Ms. Pille joined the Cincinnati Ballet where she remained in the second company for two years. In this time she performed many ballets and was chosen to perform with the American run of the German Opera Die Meistersinger. She then spent a  year training with former Alvin Ailey principal dancer Bernard Gaddis in the Horton Modern technique. After joining Texas Ballet Theater in 2016, Samantha had the honor of performing leading roles in DGV©, danced the Tiger Lily in Alice in Wonderland, Sugar Plum Fairy and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker, and Odette/Odile in Swan Lake. She also was asked to perform Esmeralda Pas de Deux, Don Quixote, and End of Time in Germany at the Münster Theater, and was a guest artist with Queensland Ballet in Australia as the Sugar Plum Fairy in 2017. Samantha is currently in her fourth season as a company member with Texas Ballet Theater.

Why did you begin dancing?
My mother owned a ballet studio and started me in class at a young age.

When did you join Texas Ballet Theater?
I joined the Professional Division for the 2015 –2016 season and the Company for the 2016 – 2017 season.

What is your favorite ballet to see?
My favorite ballet to see is Romeo and Juliet.

What is your favorite ballet to perform/what is your favorite role you have performed?
My favorite ballet that I performed was Mowgli in Jungle Book.

What is your favorite movie/TV show?
My favorite movie is Girl, Interrupted.

What is your favorite song?
My favorite song is People are Strange by The Doors.

Do you have a favorite sports team? If so, who?
My favorite sports team is the Bengals.

What kind of music do you like best?
The kind of music I like the best is classic rock.

What’s your least favorite part of getting ready for a performance?
My least favorite part of getting ready for a performance is putting on fake eyelashes.
