Laura Gruener, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, received her training from Philadelphia Dance Theatre under the direction of Joy Capponi. She has also attended various summer programs including those at Texas Ballet Theater, Houston Ballet and Boston Ballet on scholarship.  Ms. Gruener was awarded the Jonathan Phelps memorial scholarship for excellence in contemporary dance at Regional Dance America, was a Youth America Grand Prix finalist from 2005-2012, and was featured as a cast member on the Ovation original series A Chance to Dance.  Now in her seventh season with Texas Ballet Theater, Laura has most enjoyed performing in the world premiere of Garrett Smith’s Imbue, Christopher Bruce’s Rooster, Christopher Wheeldon’s DGV©: Danse à Grande Vitesse, and Ben Stevenson’s Dracula.
