Serenade and Gloria

As Tchaikovsky’s Serenade in C for String Orchestra unfolds, Balanchine masterfully highlights each performer’s amazing talent. Following Serenade, patrons will be treated to the North Texas premiere of Sir Kenneth MacMillian’s Gloria. Inspired by Vera Brittain’s lament for the dead of the Great War in her auto biographical novel, Testament of Youth, this legendary choreographer’s ballet visually mourns all the lives cut short or blighted by war.
