2013 Summer Intensive
June 17 - July 19
The Summer Intensive program is designed to broaden the perspective of students ages 12 - 21 by offering exposure to many different dance genres with exceptional teachers and guest artists. The schedule includes ballet technique, pointe, men’s class, variations, and jazz. Both a 3 week and 5 week program is offered and may include additional classes in pas de deux, character, modern, pilates mat and Latin ballroom. Classes are taught by the Texas Ballet Theater Artistic Staff, Texas Ballet Theater School Faculty and esteemed guest teachers from around the world.
Students are invited to attend Texas Ballet Theater’s School Summer Intensive by audition only. A national audition tour to select cities takes place in January and February 2013. DVD auditions are available for students unable to reach an audition site. The deadline to submit DVD auditions is April 30, 2013.
All students attending the 5 week intensive will be included in the Showcase Performance. Trainees for Texas Ballet Theater may be selected during the Summer Intensive for eligible students who attend the entire program.
Limited scholarships are awarded at the sole discretion of Texas Ballet Theater Artistic Staff and the School. Students must attend an audition to be eligible for scholarship consideration. No scholarship consideration will be given to DVD auditions. Class placement and scheduling is at the sole discretion of Texas Ballet Theater Artistic Staff and the School.
