TBT to Move to New Facility
(Dallas / Fort Worth, TX – March 2010)… Texas Ballet Theater is proud to announce it is relocating its rehearsal studios, administrative offices and Fort Worth Academy to a new location in Fort Worth. Texas Ballet Theater is currently located at 6845 Green Oaks Road where it has been since 1985. The new facility is located at 1600 Green Oaks Road.
“We have been striving towards this day for many years and are thankful to all of the foundations, corporations and individual donors who made this possible,” states Board Chairman Suzanne Charriere. “Our new facility is a tremendous upgrade for our artistic staff, dancers, production staff and administrative employees and helps us create a nationally recognized environment for dancers and choreographers to develop and showcase their talent.”
“We are fortunate to have found such an amazing facility in Fort Worth to call our new home,” states Managing Director Margo McCann. “Our new landlord presented us with an incredibly competitive rental rate in combination with a substantial tenant improvement package allowing Texas Ballet Theater to achieve a move we never thought possible. We would like to say thank you to First & Center, LLC who has been very patient with us during this process as we have consulted with staff, the Executive Committee, our Board of Directors and special friends of the ballet to make certain we were making all of the right decisions. Renovation of the new facility will commence within the next few weeks and is expected to be completed within 4 months. This move is fiscally responsible for our long-term artistic, education and production goals. It is truly a win-win for all parties involved.”
The new facility provides over 25,000 square feet of space with a studio that is the equivalent size of the stage at both Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth and the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas. The new facility has ample room for the wardrobe department, as well as space for storing sets and other production elements. Finally, the new facility provides additional space for the Fort Worth Academy to expand its operations and accommodate more students.
“We are so excited to be moving to a new facility that will enhance our artistic and educational programs,” states Artistic Director Ben Stevenson, O.B.E. “This beautiful new facility allows us to move forward with creative ambition and provides the resources we need to continue to pursue artistic excellence.”
Media tours of the new facility will be conducted once the renovation is complete.
