Joining Texas Ballet Theater for her second season and a Shreveport, Louisiana native, Ms. Hobgood began her training at Twin City Ballet and Shreveport Metroploitan Ballet. She began her professional career at training on a merit scholarship at  Joffrey Ballet School in New York City performing works by Gerald Arpino, Robert Joffrey, Africa Guzman, Matthew Prescott, and Davis Robertson. Ms. Hobgood has especially enjoyed performing "Clara" in The Nutcracker, "Swanhilda" in Coppelia, and various roles in Ben Stevenson’s Dracula.
