Texas Ballet Theater makes its home in North Texas and gives back to the community by participating in local events and appearances as well as giving free public performances.
Dancers from Texas Ballet Theater School visit local children’s hospitals and nursing homes to perform classical and contemporary works as well as to allow patients visit with friendly costumed characters from Ben Stevenson’s The Nutcracker. Costumed dancers from Texas Ballet Theater’s Company and Schools also make frequent appearances in parades, book signings, holiday special events, and exhibit openings.
Texas Ballet Theater School, in addition to CityDance, supports local schools by sending dancers and advanced-level students to speak at Fine Arts Days and Career Days. These visits give children a glimpse into the life of a professional dancer and often spark an interest in pursuing dance education.
