Allisyn Hsieh, who began dancing at the age of three, studied ballet, jazz, modern, tap and lyrical dancing at New Hampshire Academy of the Performing Arts. Allisyn later intensified her training at the Boston Ballet School, which culminated in her being hand selected in 2003 as the premiere dancer for the role of “Clara” in The Nutcracker. Ms. Hsieh attended three summer programs, two on merit scholarships. To refine her ballet technique, Allisyn enrolled at Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and worked closely with choreographer and principal faculty member Laszlo Berdo. Joining Texas Ballet Theater for her fourth season, Allisyn Hsieh has enjoyed dancing “Clara” in The Nutcracker, "Anitra" in Ben Stevenson's Peer Gynt, as well as Balanchine’s Theme and Variations and Serenade, Glen Tetley's Voluntaries and Val Caniparoli's Lambarena. Ms. Hsieh would like to thank God and her parents for their love and support and the opportunity to be doing what she loves.
