A native of Kiev, Ukraine, Alexander Kotelenets began his training at the Kiev State Ballet School. After coming to the United States, he continued his training at Houston Ballet’s Ben Stevenson Academy and was a Company member with Houston Ballet before joining Texas Ballet Theater in 2003. Mr. Kotelenets enjoys performing all of Ben Stevenson’s ballets, but his favorite roles include “Tybalt” in Romeo and Juliet, "Frederick" in Dracula, "Peer" in Peer Gynt and dancing alongside his wife in the Ave Maria Pas de Deux. Alexander also had the opportunity to perform in the Company premiere of Glen Tetley's Voluntaries and George Balanchine's Theme and Variations. Mr. Kotelenets considers himself incredibly lucky to be married to fellow Company member, Heather Kotelenets.
