The Nutcracker

Students from the School have the opportunity to audition to dance in all Dallas performances of the Texas Ballet Theater's The Nutcracker at the Winspear.

 
Texas Ballet Theater School Ensemble

The main goal is to provide an arena for students to perform quality work in a professional setting, incorporating ballet and contemporary choreography. The ensemble performs several times during the year in the metroplex and participates in Youth America Grand Prix both regionally and in the finals in New York. In past years, the ensemble has placed in the top twelve  in the New York Finals and was awarded many "Outstanding" recognitions.

 YAGP RESULTS FROM IRVING -  February 2012

 Ensemble scored high enough to be invited to the New York Finals with 3 pieces.

Tiffany Byrd - Placed in top 12 for Senior Classical and invited to compete in NY Finals.

Rachel Kivlighan - Placed in top 12 for Senior Classical and top 12 for Contemporary

Shaye Galen - Placed in top 24 for Senior Classical.

Bella Ahmad - Placed in top 12 for Pre-Competitive Classical.

Performance Awards – American Academy of Ballet

Performance Awards offer a ready-made program of choreography that sets attainable goals for achievement. Dallas students have consistently won first place in the Nationals in New York and have won scholarships to the summer program.
 

Royal Academy Examinations

Students are chosen to participate in the Grade and Vocational annual examinations. The school has a 100% pass rate.
 

P.A.C.E. – Performing and Competitive Ensembles

Students have the opportunity to perform and compete in jazz and contemporary dance styles. There are four teams based on age and ability – minis, juniors, teens and seniors. These teams have earned many gold and platinum awards throughout the year and at Nationals.
